I wanted to start off the week with this "Notable Quotable". D.A. Carson spoke at the Ligonier Conference a couple weeks ago. The theme of the conference was the Holiness of God. This quote sneaked it's way into our church bulletin, and now it's found its way on here. Enjoy!
"People do not drift toward Holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; we drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; we drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish indiscipline of lost self- control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated." ~ D.A. Carson, The Love of God

Lily, what an awesome quote! You have no idea how much I needed that today...this week...lately. Oh, that's rockin'! I'm gonna print it out and share it with my math teacher on Thursday. Thanks for posting that.
Love you,
Sarah
