Ten Followers and Tuna Recipe

This recipe is the result of some follower envy and comment love today. A friend of mine (yes, I'm privileged enough to know this hilarious, godly lady in real life) asked for the recipe that I mentioned here (#282). It's been a fun round of comments today resulting in this recipe. Enjoy! It's one of my most favorites.

Sesame Seared Tuna

4 (6-8 ounce) tuna steaks
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup sesame seeds
wasabi paste
1 tablespoon olive oil

1. In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, honey and sesame oil. Divide into two equal parts. Stir the rice vinegar into one part and set aside as a dipping sauce.

2. Spread the sesame seeds out on a plate. Coat the tuna steaks with the remaining soy sauce mixture, then press into the sesame seeds to coat.

3. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot. Place steaks in the pan, and sear for about 30 seconds on each side. Serve with the dipping sauce and wasabi paste.

This serves 4-6 people (depends on the gender ;)

OK, first off, you need to know that once again...Your blog hates me and is trying to thwart our ability to communicate. This is my 2nd try at commenting to relay my thanks for your prompt answer to my request for the tuna recipe (and btw, in my house, with 7 teens - Serves 2 would be more accurate...but I will adjust it. Adjusting is a Pittman trait. :)

Anyway, on the slight chance that I outsmart your blog and you actually see this comment, I must say that I am paying special attention to blog design these days - believing there may be a blog re-design in my near future - and yours is particularly professional looking and very pleasing to the eye. Is this just another example of one of the Blair sisters many advanced skills? :)

I completely understand the adjusting "thing." We do it all the time! I'm sure you just do it 4 times as often as we do :)

You've outsmarted my blog. I'm sorry it hates you. Please know that I do not share its sentiments.

The advanced skills of designing this blog were simply being able to decide what matched the theme and my (our) style and mixing and matching backgrounds with headers from different websites (and I do not pay for such things so all of this is free. I'm sure you'll be glad to know since you're only spending money on sandals this year). Oh, and I did manipulate the header a little bit so that it would say what I wanted, but that's easy. If you find something you like I'll do it for you, if you want. Or you can get that handy-dandy son of yours to do it :) (But just in case there's a girl element that he's not able to capture, I'd be happy to help). Here are the websites I used:

for the background: http://thecutestblogontheblock.com/

for the header: http://shabbyblogs.com/extra.html

Talk about cuteness... I love the website for the header. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
